It's What You Do With What Happens

I have come to believe that the events we experience as entrepreneurs are the same for us all. The founders of Google and the founder of Spanx, experienced the same things you and I have (or will). Therefore, it is not what happens to us that determines our entrepreneurial success. It is how we deal with what happens.

Seek the opportunity in every challenge your business faces. Make your weaknesses your biggest strength. Align to what customers want without compromising – even one iota – why you are doing what you do.

If you do that, it’s no longer a question if you will have colossal success. The question is when.

How Is This An Opportunity

  1. Mike, that’s such a profound truth, and it’s really hard sometimes to see how something being presented is fair or has equal benefits to all parties involved (especially when it’s you who feels like your getting the short end of the stick).
However, I’ve found that when you always have the positive intuition to ask “How is this an opportunity” for me now or in the future vs. approaching it negatively from the aspect that I’m getting taken advantage of somehow, your positive attitude will prevail, your focus will help manifest an unforeseen opportunity, and your vision will experience growth.
Don’t fight what you perceive will happen while in a disenchanted state; instead with a resounding positive attitude always know there’s an opportunity within every challenge!

  2. I often reflect on this Mike and love: it is not what happens to us that determines our entrepreneurial success. It is how we deal with what happens. (so true)
I’d also add its what we do as Entrepreneurs with our 24 hours. We all have the same and some maximize them efficiently while others….
    Loved this!

  3. Yes, Yes, Yes! So true. Those who choose to complain about the things that happen beyond their control get nowhere. Those who choose to find a way around their obstacles, or find the opportunity in the obstacles, will succeed!

  4. Whether I am moving forward or not is how I can tell how I am doing. Thank you for the reminder. I can sit at my computer for 5 days and not do anything. Or I can do it for 5 hours and finish what I need done.
